This is the only museum that tells the story of The Battle of Anghiari and the lost work of Leonardo da Vinci. It also recounts the history of this town in Tuscany.
On the second floor of the Marzocco Palace the traveller will find the complete reconstruction, through preparatory drawings from museums around the world, of the masterpiece by Leonardo da Vinci.
For the first time in its history, the famous lost painting of The Battle of Anghiari comes to life from the first preparatory steps in a virtual immersive space. It is possible to experience the innovative work of the Renaissance genius.
The main focus in the museum is the section devoted to the complete reconstruction of the battle of June 29, 1440 between Florence and Milan.
In the other sections, the museum recounts the historical evolution of this part of Tuscany through archaeological evidence, ancient documents, collections of traditional ceramics, and, finally, with a significant collection of ancient weapons from Anghiari.
